How we review
Everything in the Learn library follows the same standards. Here is how we research, write, source, and review what you read.
How we research
We start from primary sources. Where possible we cite peer reviewed studies, systematic reviews, and meta analyses rather than secondary coverage. When the research is early or the findings are mixed, we say so plainly rather than rounding up.
How we write
We write in plain language and keep the claims tied to the sources. We describe what the research shows about a nutrient or a topic in general. We do not promise health outcomes, and we are careful to separate research about creatine broadly from claims about any one product.
How we rate evidence
Each article carries an evidence rating so you can see how settled a topic is at a glance. The full scale, and what each level means, is on the Evidence ratings page.
Review and named reviewers
We only name a reviewer when a real credentialed person has read the article and consented to be named. If an article does not list a reviewer, none has been assigned. We never attach a name to work that person has not actually reviewed.
Corrections
If you spot something that looks wrong or out of date, email hello@drinkbrainstein.com and we will look into it. When we update an article after publishing, the article shows an updated date.
